Come learn, sign and play with us!
Signing Smart Play Classes, for children 5 months to 2 years, are filled with songs and fun activities to engage both parents and children, as well as loads of developmental information to help you understand how your child learns and acquires language at every age.

Caregivers learn how to integrate ASL signs and Signing Smart strategies into daily life while babies play, interact, and learn. The Play Classes meet weekly for 45 minutes; each week we focus on a different theme, such as food, toys, sports, outdoor signs, or animals.

Fall 2022 Play Classes will run for 10 weeks in Glendale.

I had said I was done teaching play classes… JK… just kidding… I will continue to teach play classes at the JCC in Glendale for the time being, as well as offering private classes, Childcare and Parent Workshops on demand.

Classes begin September 13th

  • Tuesdays 9:30-10:15 am – in person Beginner class at the JCC in Glendale
  • Tuesdays 10:45-11:30 am – in person Beginner class at the JCC in Glendale

NOTE: A minimum of 8 students must be registered for a class to run. Because enrollment is down due to COVID, it’s unlikely that all of the offered classes will run. Please consider which times/locations would be your second choice if your desired class does not run.
Students must complete the Signing Smart Beginner Class before enrolling in the Talking Toddlers class. Please contact us at couryr AT msn DOT com to find out about class availability after the session has begun.)

Participants in the Beginner play class series receive the Signing Smart for Early Communication Parent Handbook, the Signing Smart ASL Glossary DVD and the Treasure Chest 1: Toys and Signs DVD.

Participants in the Talking Toddlers play class series receive the Signing Smart for Long Term Learning Parent Handbook, the Treasure Chest II: Signs, Songs and Rhymes DVD, and a set of Signing Smart Flashcards (either First Signs, Animal Signs, Food Signs, or Year-Round Holiday Signs.)

Participants repeating either the Beginner class series or the Talking Toddlers class series receive a set of Signing Smart Flashcards (see above).
