When should my baby start Signing Smart? |
Any age is a good age for Signing Smart. The play classes focus on children ages 5-6-months to two-years old. My baby is four months old, can we start now? |
Absolutely. For those who want to start early, we applaud you. You are laying the groundwork for your child’s communication and relationship with you. It is these families who will reap the earliest reward and longest benefit from Signing Smart. These are the parents who will have trained their eyes to see their child’s very first sign. These are parents who also risk increased frustration. Logically, younger children have longer learning curves as compared to older children. Though it will take longer for a 4 to 5 month old to exhibit their first sign, they will still do so earlier than, say, a 10-month-old just starting out with the Signing Smart programming would. So long as you are comfortable, and not comparing your child to other older children, then we encourage you to join us. |
